Re: Who owns tribe.net
05/28Thanks for bringing this up, Pils... I was wondering if there was some database somewhere where they are keeping all the posts for some later "use" (LOL). Seems like a probability if it's NBC.

Re: Who owns tribe.net
06/07Is NBC still owned by GE? GE manufactures both nuke reactors and A-bombs; theyre one of the evilest corps on earth. they ARE the war machine... One might even suggest more evil than newscorp.

Re: Who owns tribe.net
06/08Uh, I don't know where you get your information about NBC owning Tribe.net
You have a source for that?

Re: Who owns tribe.net
06/12good point
if you google "tribe nbc" there are a lot of 1 year old blogs saying NBC is in talks to buy Tribe. but nothing from a standard mainstream news source and nothing that says the deal is done.

Re: Who owns tribe.net
06/28Bullocks. It's owned by Utah Street Networks, Inc.
415-861-2286
Utah Street Networks, Inc.
208 Utah St
SF, CA 94103
A twenty second search of the ownership entity on the business filings portal on the CA.GOV website shows us that they list the entity address as
UTAH STREET NETWORKS, INC.
Number: C2926384 Date Filed: 9/12/2006 Status: active
Jurisdiction: California
Address
1 BLACKFIELD DRIVE #207
TIBURON, CA 94920
Agent for Service of Process
C T CORPORATION SYSTEM
818 WEST SEVENTH ST
LOS ANGELES, CA 90017
A quick reverse directory search shows the Tiburon address to be a retail and office complex. It houses everything from attornies to chocolate retailers. CT Corporation System is one of those "Incorporate for less than $500" deals. Hardly the approach an international corporation takes. Now let's look at who owns Utah Street Networks, Inc. Quick Googling:
"Cisco Systems has completed the purchase of select assets of privately-held Utah Street Networks, Inc., the operator of the social networking site Tribe.net. Utah Street Networks uses a proprietary software infrastructure to create and maintain online communities on the Tribe.net website. As part of the asset purchase, this software will be integrated into the Cisco Media Solutions Group (CMSG), which is focused on infrastructure products to help digital media content owners improve the consumer experience. Employees from Utah Street Networks, Inc. will also be joining Cisco to continue software development. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Utah Street Networks technology and certain members of team will join CMSG led by Dan Scheinman, SVP and GM. The deal does not include the Tribe.net site, which will remain completely independent of Cisco."
